Shiraoi House was opened in 2004 to honour the twinning relationship between the City of Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada and its sister city, Shiraoi Town, Hokkaido, Japan. Shiraoi House is situated in LeBoudais Park and is an asset of the City of Quesnel. You can take a virtual tour

Day to day operation of Shiraoi House is managed by the Quesnel-Shiraoi Twinning Society. Shiraoi House is open to the public at certain times and also available for private rentals
. The Twinning Society operates a gift shop
with many Japanese items for sale. The gift shop is open during regular open house times. Many twinning events have been held at Shiraoi House since it was opened including concerts by Japanese artists and receptions for visiting delegations. Check the calendar

Shiraoi House is available for rental to the general public. Shiraoi House's favourable location close to downtown make it an ideal venue for business related gatherings such as meetings, seminars, courses and information sesions. Our unique situation in Lebourdais Park makes Shiraoi House perfect for private functions too like birthday celebrations, retirement dinners or any other gathering. There have even been a couple weddings in Shiraoi House.
